PRODUCTS DESCRIPTION
High viscosity of attapulgite clay Description
Syneresis Control Attapulgite Clay is a kind of crystalloid hydrous magnesium-aluminum silicate mineral, which has very good colloidal properties such as: specific dispersity, high temperature endurance, salt and alkali resistance, and also high adsorbing and de-coloring capabilities. Furthermore, Attapulgite has certain plastic and adhesive characters.
Gelling Grade Attapulgites is produced from attapulgite raw clay after the beneficiation, crushing, immersion, extrusion, stoving, grinding and grading. It is a kind of high viscosity product that depend on the scientific formula and special processing technology.
Attapulgite Feature as a Thixotropic Suspending Agent
Suspending Thixotropic Agent is a hydrous magnesium aluminum silicate clay mineral with a unique structure made up of colloidal particles called spicules. Gellation takes place following dispersion when the spicules become attracted to each other, become entangled and form the matrix structure that thickens, entraps, and suspends solids. Proper dispersion and gelling is dependent on the amount of shear and length of time it is applied or the use of chemical means to facilitate dispersion. To achieve gellation chemically dispersed clay must come into contact with a chemical salt which causes spicules to associate with one another and the gel to instantly form. Attapulgite can also be used to structure organic systems with the proper use of a cationic surfactant. The basic advantages of attapulgite as a structuring agent are versatility, compatibility with a variety of liquid systems, functionality over a wide pH range, and resistance to attack by microorganisms. It is relatively economical and provides a thixotropic liquid system.
Inorganic Rheology Modifier Suspending Thixotropic and suspending agents provide benefits, including easy dispersion, formulating latitude and long-term stability. The colloidal network forms a thixotropic gel that if undisturbed is stable indefinitely. Under modest shear, however, the structure breaks down and the liquid becomes thin and flowable. When agitation ceases, the scattered particles realign to reform the colloidal network and thicken the liquid. The cycle of thinning and thickening, by changes in shear, can be repeated endlessly.
Clay Thickener For Liquid Pesticide Wide Application Field for Agricultural Fertilizer & Pesticide and Indutrial Grade Molecular Sieve and Architectural Paints & Mortar
1.This product is characterized with strong adsorption and cohesion forces, and has good suspending and colloidal properties.
It can be made into mineral wool acoustic panel (e.g. ceiling) together with other fibers, which integ- rates such functions as decoration, sound absorption, the-rmal insulation, fire prevention, energy conservation, disinfection and air cleaning.
2.It will not react with the molecular sieve due to its inertia in the operative media, therefore, it is used as the binding agent of the molecular sieve, and can decrease the abrasion and wearing of the sieve, enhance the sieve strength, improve the appearance and quality.
3.The product has such advantages as having high water absorption, good thermal and sound insulation, adhesive value and absorbability. Therefore, it can be used as the binder and bulking filler of the insulating glass desiccant and other desiccants.
4.It can be used as the carrier of catalyst or the suspending agent of liquid fertilizer/pesticide due to its light specific gravity, strong suspending ability and adsorbability
